Old Heath School
Old Heath Community School is a warm and friendly place where there is a safe and happy atmosphere in which our children are encouraged and challenged. The school is very popular and plans are afoot for new classrooms. The school plays its full part in the life of the community under the guidance of Mr.Jeremy Hallum, our Head Teacher, and his staff.
The School opened in 1894 as the Old Heath Board School.
Originally schooling when provided in Old Heath , took place in the Bell Public House in 1836. Then a new school room was opened in 1837 at what is now known as Saville Cottage on the junction with Old Heath Road and Abbot's Rd (Still there today) When St.Barnabas Church opened in 1874 it served as the school during the week and the church at weekends until our present school was built and the children's education was firmly established and thrives to this day.
